With Halloween around the corner, I thought it would be a great excuse for a recipe with a ghoulish theme.
No pumpkins here…not black cats and, hey, no black or orange in sight. Instead, I want am putting a spin of the classic Bloody Mary (that’s creepy…right?) and making it a tad more spooky with a green hue and a frightful kick of Ghost and Scorpion pepper hot sauce!
I’ve partnered with the folks at The Angry Saucier, a local small-batch hot sauce creator . Here their Ghost and Scorpion hot sauce adds a sting and a depth of flavour that is accentuated by the fresh veg in this cocktail. And
The Angry Saucier uses a selection of hot peppers, from habanero to Carolina Reaper to craft theirrobust hot sauces that contain no stabilizers, no artificial colours and no preserving agents.

In addition to the ghastly kick of the ghost pepper, this Bloody Mary uses a homemade tomato juice, with a base of tomatillos for a surprising colour and tangy flavour, perfect for your Halloween get together.
I have recommended only 1 teaspoon of hot sauce, but try that out to start and add more if you want a little more heat.
